Purple Heart Family Support Lunch

Thanksgiving Weekend Lunches Served to Families

Purple Heart Family Support ended the Thanksgiving weekend by providing a Sunday lunch for the patients and their families at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Five volunteers from MarineParents.com served 100 burritos, salad, chips, salsa and soda to Marines injured in combat zones. The burritos were a welcome treat for the Marines and their families. The Marine Liaison office assisted the volunteers to bring meals up to Marines in the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Center on a another floor of the hospital. The two Marines in treatment there particularly appreciated this.

The next lunch is scheduled for December 15, 2007. Donations are always appreciated to help cover the cost of meals at Bethesda and for Purple Heart Family Support to ultimately expand its much-needed services.

Our next event for Purple Heart Family Support (PHFS) will be a lunch served to Marine families waiting at the bedside of their Marines at Bethesda Naval Hospital. If you would like to contribute to the cost of meals served to the families of injured Marines, please visit the PHFS website.

Team Marine Parents™ raisings funds for MarineParents.com,Inc. Outreach Projects

Live Race Day updates Team Marine Parents™

Sunday Oct. 28 2007 is the big day for the Members of Team Marine Parent™ http://teammarineparents.com/ who are running in the Marine Corps Marathon and or participating in the 10K walk/run. We hope you join us in tracking updates of our team members as our volunteers receive them and also post your encouragement to the team members, or just stop by the threads and join in the fun and excitement of race day!

All of the members of Team Marine Parent™ are also raising funds for the Outreach Projects here at MarineParents.com,Inc. Our Outreach Projects help our Marines and or their family members through,

OperationPAL™ which sends out cards and letters of support to our injured or ill Marines and Corpsmen.

Care Package Project™ which sends out over 1000 care packages to deployed Marines every 10 weeks at no cost to the Marine or Family member.

Purple Heart Family Support™ which provides a monthly meal on the 5th floor of Bethesda Hospital to the loved at the Marines bedside.
